The Model Portfolio provides solutions across asset classes, geographies and investment strategies. The goal of the Portfolio is to formulate an asset allocation that has the potential to generate superior risk-adjusted returns for a given level of risk over a longer investment horizon. The Portfolio is created in three different steps.
IRON has developed a proprietary investment process designed to select underlying investments for the Model Portfolio that provide competitive long-term returns for a given level of risk. The three main components of the investment process are investment selection, investment monitoring and investment replacement. The goal of this selection process is to maintain a high quality array of fund alternatives which adhere to established style benchmarks while avoiding an environment of excessive addition or deletion of funds based on short-term performance criteria. Because of the dynamic nature of the investment environment, IRON will practice a regular and disciplined ongoing monitoring process for the underlying investments. The selected funds for each asset class are monitored on a periodic basis to ensure that the underlying investments stay in the top quartile of the IRON Composite.
